They Came to ASI for Furniture. They Left with a Better Business.
Presbia was relocating its offices and needed a furniture provider. ASI looked deeper, challenged the assumption, and delivered a workspace transformation that changed how the company operates.

The Challenge
Presbia had operated with a traditional cubicle-based office layout for as long as the company had existed. When it came time to relocate, the assumption was straightforward: find a furniture provider, replicate the existing layout in the new space, and move on.
ASI saw something different.
Before submitting a proposal, ASI asked questions that no other provider had asked. Not about square footage or panel configurations. About where the company wanted to be in five years. About how the team actually worked. About whether the current layout was serving or limiting the business.
Then ASI sent consultants in to observe.
What they found was an organization where collaboration was constrained by physical barriers, where information moved slowly between siloed workstations, and where the layout was actively working against the way Presbia's teams needed to operate.
The ASI Approach
ASI presented Presbia with a redesign proposal: replace the cubicle configuration with an open benching system that would reduce physical barriers, increase face-to-face collaboration, and allow the company to operate in a smaller, more efficient footprint, reducing both rent and energy costs.
The research ASI brought to support the recommendation was specific and compelling. Studies from Gensler, Harvard Business School, and MIT all pointed to the same conclusion: companies that balance open collaboration space with focused individual workspace outperform those operating in traditional closed configurations, producing measurably higher innovation scores, job satisfaction, and overall productivity.
Presbia moved forward. ASI designed the new layout, procured and installed the furniture, and managed the full relocation, directly overseeing every element of the move to ensure the transition to the new space was seamless.
ASI also outfitted the new office with LED lighting for energy efficiency and specified desks built from recycled materials with end-of-life recyclability of up to 75%. The project was executed without disruption. And when it was over, Presbia engaged ASI immediately for a second project.
The Outcome
The transformation was measurable from the first week.
